Save the Date: ARIA's 90_20 Celebration

Save the Date: Interior Architecture 90_20 Celebration March 31, 2017

In 2017, the Interior Architecture program in the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture will celebrate its 90_20 Anniversary—the 90th anniversary of its founding as an interior design program within the then School of Architecture and Applied Arts and its 20th anniversary of its evolution to the Interior Architecture program in the now College of Architecture, Design and Construction.

The Interior Architecture faculty and Advisory Council have begun making 90_20 Anniversary Celebration plans. Bobby McAlpine, a 1981 graduate of Interior Design and 1983 graduate of Architecture and founder and principal of McAlpine Tankersley Architecture and McAlpine Booth & Ferrier Interiors, and Lois Weinthal, Chair and Professor at Ryerson University’s School of Interior Design in Toronto, Canada, will be the keynote speakers. The Celebration will begin in the afternoon of March 31, 2017 in Dudley B6 auditorium.  A reception will follow at the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art from 5 to 8 p.m. Other plans under discussion to commemorate the anniversaries include a 90_20 publication and a student exhibition.

Look for more information about 90_20 activities in upcoming issues of StudioAPLA and on the CADC website ( as Interior Design and Interior Architecture alumni are featured and plans are finalized.
